Julie has loved animals her whole life and has always enjoyed learning about science, wildlife, and dogs.
Family, friends, and coworkers have always trusted her with the care and training of their dogs and
other pets. In 2018 she got her own dog: a smooth collie named Coda that changed her life.
Julie’s previous career was as a Park Ranger and the manager of America’s National Parks stores. Coda
came to work with her and was the Northeast region’s first Bark Ranger ambassador! In 2021 she got a
second smooth collie, Link, and learned how to groom and show dogs in the conformation ring. With the
arrival of Link, she decided that a career in dog training was what would make her happiest.
Julie loves sharing her passion for dog sports and aspires to teach others the joys of working with their
dogs. She and her dogs train and perform in rally-obedience, community canine, tricks, conformation,
fastcat, fit-dog, and agility. Julie is one of Blue Dog’s assistant dog trainers working toward becoming a
certified professional dog trainer through CCPDT.
Julie has a BA in English/Creative Writing and a minor in American Studies. Her other passion in life is
music and she is fluent with 5 instruments. She’s also an avid nature enthusiast and brings her husband
Nick and their dogs hiking and tent camping as often as she can.
